Kunsthalle Ziegelhütte Appenzell
With its kiln, built in 1566, this brickyard is one of Appenzell's most important industrial monuments. The complex was renovated in 2003 and re-opened as a multifunctional arts centre.
The Kunsthalle Ziegelhütte stages changing art exhibitions in a new extension incorporated in the old brickworks. The monthly concerts performed showcase classical and contemporary ensemble music. The centre also hosts occasional dance or literary evenings. The original building, which houses a cafe, can also be hired for private events, conferences etc. The Kunsthalle Ziegelhütte is funded by the Heinrich Gerbert Kulturstiftung
