Zeughaus Teufen
The attic of Zeughaus Teufen (Teufen Armoury), which was converted in 2012, houses the Grubenmann Museum. Various members of this family of builders from Teufen had a dominant influence on timber construction in the 18th century.
Modern-day experts still marvel at their bridge and roof structures, with their incredible spans. Models, drawings and plans as well as sound recordings and images recount, in a readily accessible way, the story of this successful architectural dynasty and their remarkable achievements.
The 1st floor is the venue for regular special exhibitions and events relating to timber, architecture and culture. Paintings by Teufen artist Hans Zeller are on permanent display in two rooms.
